Foundations: Introduction to Yoga for Youth and Families

  • Introduction to the theories and practices that serve as our foundation of teaching yoga and mindfulness to families and youth of all ages in a variety of settings—online and in-person—with featured discussions that will include research-based age development, neuroscience, social media, implicit bias, inclusion, equity, diversity and race;
  • Weekend of transformational demonstrations, discussions and activities with your friends, colleagues, and Yogiños Leaders;
  • Interactive experiences facilitating and demonstrating team-building, cooperation, anti-bullying and tolerance;
  • Information and opportunities about starting your own kids yoga business, online and in-person;
  • Yogiños: Yoga for Youth® Curriculum eManual with educational and yoga philosophies, trilingual charts, class ideas, basic pose lists, instructions and information designed specifically for youth of all abilities and needs;
  • A to Z Bilingual eBook of Poses;
  • Wholesale discounts on our t-shirts, music CDs, posters, and books before and during the training;
  • eCommunication sessions with Elizabeth B. Reese, Ph.D., RYT, RCYT, and/or Yogiños Leaders

As a result of this program, we believe participants will be able to:

  • Conceive, design and teach an OHMazing® theme-based Yogiños: Yoga for Youth® kids yoga class online and in-person
  • Practice and teach all 8 Limbs of Yoga, including poses (asana) and breathing (pranayama)
  • Practice and teach mindfulness
  • Understand and use age-appropriate and safe forms of yoga, including games and related activities, to engage kids physically, emotionally, and cognitively
  • Modify lessons for various audiences and age groups
  • Learn, practice and weave multiple languages and intelligences into your yoga for kids class

Use yoga for kids as a means to teach tools and techniques to empower youth and adults who work with them to disrupt habitual reactions and instead curate compassionate responses.

Trainings come with:

  • MOSST 8-week On-Demand curriculum (1 level per training)

  • Comprehensive e-curriculum manual for each module

  • A-Z Pose Guide with variations related to trainings

  • Bilingual A-Z Yoga and Mindfulness Cards (downloadable PDF)

  • Access to mostly original, bilingual music

  • Increased chances for hiring as we expand into libraries and schools

  • Join our community of amazing, agents of change in a trauma-informed wellness community

These trainings can be combined with past in-person and on-line Yogiños: Yoga for Youth® courses or future in-person trainings to become eligible to be a certified RCYT. We understand that plans can change after registration. We accept cancellations with reimbursement when requested more than 2 weeks before a training. When the request is within two weeks of the training, the funds may be used for a future training.

Leadership, Foundations, and Yoga in Schools will be in-person at venues listed above and live streaming. Others are TBA.
