Post-Natal Training with Amy Bidrman
Postnatal training with Amy Bidrman offers information and inspiration for guiding women back into their practice with confidence, and sharing their knowledge about immediate postnatal physiology, post vaginal or c-section birth. We will cover pelvic floor anatomy and physiology, and postures specific to regaining strength and reconnecting to the pelvic floor and abdominals safely and patiently. We will discuss breastfeeding and postures for creating space in upper back, chest and neck. Aspects of, and the importance of community are discussed, as well as community and connection as a teacher. With a heartfelt belief that supported mothers are the cornerstone of healthy families and communities, you will finish this training ready to begin working with women postpartum. YYY founder, Elizabeth Reese, PhD,will also share foundational YYY information about connecting to the 8 limbs of yoga, multiple intelligences and other learning theories will be included. This training can be included as part of your 95-hour RCYT program.
About Amy Bidrman:
“I started practicing yoga after my second child was born. Asana practice embodied so many of the thoughts and feelings that early parenthood brought up in me and was incredibly reassuring. As a new parent I was learning and living the first two limbs of yoga, the Yamas and Niyamas which form the structure of practice on and off the mat. These qualities will always guide my teaching: non-harming, truthfulness, purity, non-grasping, contentment, learning through self-experience and a devotion to the divine in all beings.
I have been a childbirth educator since 1999, and took my first yoga training and started teaching pre and postnatal yoga in 2005. I took another training in 2008 with Yogrishi Vishvketu and continued to teach and to lead teacher trainings in pre and postnatal.”
